Berlin was the first region in Germany, increasing the time spent on the purchase. The initiative of the City was a hit with the beginning of a seasonal upturn in the retail market. Shops in Berlin will be open all day from Monday to Saturday, although some restrictions remain on Sunday. This is an important step for Germany, where the opening hours of shops governed by strict federal law for decades, and were based largely on normal working hours on weekdays and Saturday mornings restricted. Retailers on Sunday was practically impossible. The restrictions are designed to protect merchants from their competitors, but with increasing the transparency of European borders prevented them from development. Government of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, the mayor and officials of the tourism industry, has decided to use the most recent changes in the constitution, allowing regions in calendar stores to be enforced.
